Do yourself a favour, grab a coffee, and sit back and watch the two great video stories I have created at www.OurVeterans.ca. In the first two volumes we interviewed Sergeant Len Beck of the 8th Canadian Reconnaissance Regiment. He is an amazing storyteller, and I was absolutely enthralled with his stories, memory and overall positive attitude. He is a real tribute to our WWII veterans, and Canadians as a whole.

If you know of any Canadian WWII veterans, please forward the website URL to them or their families, so I can work to collect more videos, and pass these important stories down the generations.  We originally posted this teaser, and it really doesn't do justice to the two longer videos (25 minutes each):

New Project - OurVeterans.ca

As you can see on the right hand side of my blog, I am embarking on a very special project to highlight the lives of many "normal" Canadian World War Two veterans. Working with my Daughter Lauren, we hope to collect video interviews, stories and advice from some of the men and women who served in the war.

Basically, we will do interviews ourselves, and encourage others to do the same. As they arrive or are completed, we will post them on this site for the rest of the World to enjoy. Casual and grassroots in nature, we will hopefully witness and collect many great stories. Happy, sad, touching and humbling.

Please, if you have a veteran in your family, or network of friends and acquaintances, encourage them to videotape their story for our project. The only way that this will succeed, is if people make the effort to get these special Canadians to tell their story. Help us commemorate their contributions, and hopefully educate younger generations on the personality, sacrifice and character of this special generation.
